CAMDEN DESERVES A STRONG LOCAL NEWSPAPER.

LET'S BUILD IT TOGETHER.

Every town has a story, and ours is written every day in the Camden News. From school board meetings to local elections, business openings to obituaries, our reporting doesn’t just inform readers. Our daily news coverage binds our community together. But this kind of journalism doesn’t happen without support.

Across the country, local newspapers are shrinking or shutting down entirely. When they disappear, so does the information communities rely on. We’re determined not to let that happen here in Camden, but we can’t do it alone.

The Camden News Community Journalism Project is our response to a growing crisis in local news. It’s a call for readers, neighbors and civic-minded folks like you to step up and help sustain independent, local reporting right here in Ouachita County. With your support, we can continue and expand our coverage of the issues that matter most to Camden residents — from city government and education to small businesses and public safety.

When local news fades, misinformation fills the gap. Civic engagement drops. Fewer people vote. Corruption rises. But when strong local journalism thrives, the opposite happens:

  • Communities are more informed.
  • Residents are more engaged.
  • Leaders are more accountable.
  • People feel more connected to where they live.

Please donate today and help keep local news strong in Ouachita County. Your support helps ensure that Camden doesn’t become a news desert and instead becomes a model for how small towns can protect and strengthen local journalism.
